Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actor, animal advocate and author who won several prizes. She has been acclaimed for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). The desire to become an artist was in part influenced by her family background within the New York family of artists. Her first job was as an assistant to photographers. Then she moved on to acting and modeling. Her name was highlighted in her two first films and won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. MacGraw was a worldwide star after her 1970 movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as an award from the Golden Globe. After only three movies, MacGraw was declared as the top female performer in box office history. The handprints of her signature, as well as footprints were immortalized in 1972 at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Other credits comprise The Getaway Convoy Players, TV miniseries The Winds of War and many more. Moving Pictures is her autobiography, published in 1991. MacGraw is divorced three times.
